About Micah Hendler
Micah Hendler is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Jerusalem Youth Chorus (JYC), a celebrated Israeli-Palestinian music and dialogue initiative that brings together young singers from East and West Jerusalem to create music and build understanding across divides. Under his leadership, the JYC has performed on global stages including TED, America’s Got Talent, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and continues to meet, even during times of conflict, demonstrating the power of shared voices in pursuit of peace, justice, and inclusion.
A Yale graduate in Music and International Studies, Micah draws on global traditions of community singing and has trained with GRAMMY-winning composers Ysaye Barnwell and Roger Treece. He has collaborated with organizations such as the UN, El Sistema Greece, and Braver Angels, using music and dialogue to bridge divides in the U.S. and beyond. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree for Music, Micah writes extensively on the social impact of music and leads regular community sings in Washington, DC. He will be a featured speaker at the inaugural World Congress on the Social Impact of Music in Toronto in 2025.
