About Eric Booth

In 2015, Eric Booth was given his nation’s highest award in arts education, and was named one of the 25 most influential people in the arts in the U.S. He began as a Broadway actor, and became a businessman (his company became the largest of its kind in the U.S. in 7 years), and author of eight books, the most recent is Making Change: Teaching Artists and Their Role in Shaping a Better World. He has served for many decades on the faculty of Juilliard, Tanglewood, The Kennedy Center, and Lincoln Center Education. He is also a consultant for many arts organizations (including seven of the ten largest U.S. orchestras), cities, states and businesses around the U.S., and in 11 other countries. He co-founded the International Teaching Artist Collaborative, the first global network of artists who work in communities and schools, and co-founded The Ensemble, the publication of the world’s music for social change. A frequent keynote speaker, he gave the closing keynote to UNESCO’s first world arts education conference.
