About Pierre Vachon
Pierre Vachon is a musicologist; he obtained his doctorate in musicology (Ph.D.) from the Université de Montréal in 2004. He has published various articles on Romantic music, opera and music history. For some fifteen years, he was a producer-host for Radio-Canada’s Chaîne culturelle. He has lectured at L’Université de Sherbrooke (2012-2015), UQAM (2004-2005) and until recently, was a guest professor at the University of Montreal. In 2006, he became Director of Communications, and then Director of Social Impact and Education at Opéra de Montréal. He has initiated many opera projects focusing on mental health, intellectual disability, autism, deafness, blindness and homelessness. In 2009, he co-founded the Société pour les arts en milieux de santé (Health Arts Society).
