About Chelsey Hiebert
Chelsey Hiebert is a Canadian arts leader and music educator dedicated to advancing equity through access to music education. She currently serves as the Network Lead of the Sistema Canada Network, where she connects and supports El Sistema–inspired programs across the country.
Originally from Winnipeg, Chelsey holds a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance from Brandon University, a Diploma in Chamber Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, and an MBA from the University of Manitoba. Her career has spanned both teaching and leadership, including roles as a Teaching Artist and Centre Director at Sistema New Brunswick and as the Sistema & Special Events Manager at the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
Through her work, she champions music as a vehicle for social change, with a focus on reconciliation, inclusive practice, and community empowerment. Chelsey is a frequent presenter and advocate for music education, and recently hosted the national “Ten Seasons of Love” concert to mark Sistema Kingston’s 10th anniversary. Her leadership blends artistic excellence with strategic vision, helping to build a more accessible and transformative music education ecosystem in Canada.
