About Catherine Moore
Catherine Moore, Adjunct Professor of Music Technology & Digital Media at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music, emphasizes creating — and pitching — value, with a focus on new technologies for digital media creation & distribution, music startups, and developing curriculum to prepare students for jobs that don’t yet exist.
For 30 years Catherine has built and delivered music industry courses at New York University and the University of Toronto, using non-typical textbooks such as Hamel & Prahalad’s “Competing for the Future”, Roger Martin’s “The Design of Business”, and Sutu’s “Prosthetic Reality” collections of Augmented Reality art.
Catherine is a graduate of Bishop’s University, the Conservatoire de Musique (Montréal), and the University of Liverpool (UK), her first music-business job was managing a record store in Liverpool, and she is a music critic for American Record Guide magazine.
