About Anne-Katherine Dionne
Anne-Katherine (“A.K.”) Dionne holds a full-time faculty appointment in the Department of Music at Mount Allison University, Canada and is concurrently a PhD Candidate in music education at the University of Toronto.
A.K.’s doctoral research draws on her ten years’ experience as a classroom choral music educator and her work as a lawyer called to the Bar of Ontario in 2004. A.K.’s law career primarily focused on criminal law, professional regulation, and policy development.
More recently, A.K. followed her dream of pursuing graduate studies that would permit her to combine her interest in music, education, the criminal legal system, and social justice. A.K. grew up in a musical family on the East Coast of Canada, playing piano from a young age and experiencing first-hand the deeply humanizing connections reinforced through music-making.
