Dr. Shimi Kang is an award-winning psychiatrist, bestselling author, keynote speaker, and internationally recognized expert on mental health, innovation, and resilience. With over two decades of clinical experience working with people from all walks of life, Dr Kang has dedicated her career to understanding and promoting emotional well-being through innovative, holistic approaches that integrate neuroscience, social connection with “play” and creativity; including the transformative power of music and the arts.
As the author of the acclaimed books, “The Dolphin Parent” and “The Tech Solution,” Dr. Kang has profoundly influenced how we approach parenting, education, and technology management. Her expertise on how music and creative arts influence brain health, emotional intelligence, and social bonding has been highlighted through her engaging TEDx presentation, global speaking engagements, media appearances and workshops. She attributes music as a key player in her own healing journey with chronic pain & hypermobility disorders.
