About Shawn Earle
Dr. Shawn Earle is the CEO of Sistema Toronto and an accomplished clarinetist, educator, and arts administrator. He has led community engagement initiatives and creative projects in roles such as Education and Outreach Manager and Director of Artistic Operations for the Regina Symphony Orchestra.
As a performer, Dr. Earle has appeared across Canada, the USA, Europe, and Australia, collaborating with ensembles including the Ecosono Ensemble (Glacier Music, The Ceiling Floats Away), Albemarle Ensemble, Aventa Ensemble, Novo Ensemble, Cascadia Reed Quintet, and the Lafayette String Quartet. He co-founded the Vancouver Clarinet Trio, Trio Dolce, and Farally Ensemble, and has performed with numerous orchestras, including the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Victoria Symphony, and Regina Symphony Orchestra.
He earned his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of British Columbia, focusing on contemporary Canadian clarinet music, and holds degrees from the University of Victoria, University of Toronto, and Acadia University.
Committed to music education, Dr. Earle has taught at the University of Virginia, University of Regina, Washington and Lee University, and the University of Victoria, and has led masterclasses, directed high school bands, and taught at the El Sistema-inspired Saint James Music Academy.
