About Emma Cunliffe
Emma Cunliffe is the Director of School Partnerships and Pathways at the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST). With over 25 years of experience in music education, Emma began her career as a secondary classroom music teacher and went on to become Head of Music at a large comprehensive school. She has since held leadership roles in community and education programmes at several major institutions, including the BBC Philharmonic, The Bridgewater Hall, the University of Huddersfield, and Chetham’s School of Music, where she managed the Outreach Programme for 11 years. Emma studied at Chetham’s School of Music and the University of Birmingham, and holds a PGCE from Manchester Metropolitan University. She is currently seconded to MiSST from Chetham’s and is passionate about expanding access to high-quality music education across the North of England.
