About Deanna Yerichuk
Dr. Deanna Yerichuk is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University, coordinating the BMus and MA specializations in Community Music, and directs the research centre, the Laurier Centre for Music in the Community. Her research focuses on historical and contemporary issues of inclusion and justice in community music. As a performer, Deanna has worked as a singer-songwriter, conductor, and actor, and as a community musician, she led the voice and choral department at Dixon Hall Music School in Toronto for five years and was a frequent guest conductor for Echo Women’s Choir. Deanna also worked with Sing for Life in Edmonton to pilot music classes for mothers in conflict with the law.
